What is a Bike Bus?

A bike bus is a group ride to school led by adults along a planned route with set stops and times. Think school bus—but on bikes. Kids join at a stop, ride together safely, and arrive as a group.

Why it works

  • Safer: predictable routes + more visibility

  • Healthier: daily movement builds focus

  • Community: kids meet neighbors, parents connect

  • Greener: fewer cars at drop-off

What you need

  • A working bike, helmet, and closed-toe shoes

  • A parent/guardian for first rides (until leaders confirm independence)

  • Follow the ride rules (see Resources)
